a bit of history:
In a sub-city of Los Angeles, Jones began developing her considerable vocal talents as a young girl by mimicking the singers that influenced her. Being the youngest of four children, she was raised with a diverse exposure to music, but connecting to such artists like Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, CSN&Y, Elvis, and Ella Fitzgerald. To harness her voice, Jones studied privately with coaches and began performing in local venues to find her niche, experimenting in genres from Torch and Cabaret, to R&B, blues, pop/rock and folk/rock.
Adding to her experience, Jones sang background vocals for Joe Walsh (The Eagles) on his 1997 solo “Anthology Tour.” Then in 1998, she decided to pick up a guitar and return to her folk-rock roots. By 2000, Jones wrote, recorded, co-produced and released her debut independent CD titled “Caffeine &Courage”. Her song 500 Miles has been gaining recognition on Indie radio, XM satellite radio, Internet radio and Tonos.com, and was featured in The Creative Line Magazine music charts and review.
!n 2003, Jones was featured across the internet as an "AOL Musician of The Week" and within that same year she was recognized as one of the semi finalists for “Disc Makers Independent World Music Series”.
In 2002, Jones was a featured performer at the 1st Songs Alive! Expo at UCLA and in October of 2001, she successfully competed at The 5th Annual World Championship of Performing Artists and was awarded "Champion Vocalist" in 3 categories.
